Today was Crazy Hair day for my girls.
I was told by my daughters almost every day this past week that Friday was Crazy Hair Day.
OK... I got it!
Last night my daughter Bree came to me with a drawing of exactly how she wanted her hair. She had spent a lot of time thinking, drawing, and creating her hair style.
She came up with this idea all on her own... my job was to recreate it for her. Yikes!
She wanted a black spider with red eyes and then hair ratted to look like legs. She wanted the bun to look like the butt of the spider.
This is what we did come up with!
We didn't have a black spider and I wasn't about to go and buy one. She came to me with this pom pom and we glued eyes onto it. We then glued it to a hair clip and clipped it into the top of her hair. We
ratted her 6 legs and added a bun. (Not sure the bun looks like a spiders butt??)
We added some spider webs and viola... her spider web creation. She was happy with it! Yea! I saved the day. I was worried... that she wouldn't like it because it wasn't exactly what she had in mind.
But... I guess it is okay. It is called Crazy Hair Day after all.
For my daughter Bo, she hadn't spent one second thinking about what she wanted... so she got to be a witch. With Crazy Hair Day being around Halloween... I think we could get away with it.
I glued this witch's hat (that I am obviously in love with... see also this post here about my mason jar witch brownies) to a hair tie. I tied it into a pony tail and then did several other little pony tails with some stripped ribbons. Then we ratted.
She has the thickest hair!
For Jane... I knew what I wanted to do. You see... as one of the younger ones sometimes you don't get a choice. She didn't get a choice.
I choose to represent October's National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
I tied her hair with ribbons and bows.
My heart goes out to all you who are suffering from, recovering from, or in remission for Breast Cancer! My thoughts and prayers are with you!
Every morning I have a morning routine where I get these girls ready and prepared to face the day and then I send them out to conquer the world. They are amazing young girls and they do an amazing job in this crazy world.
Today... Crazy Hair Day... it just took a little longer to get them ready... but they LOVED it! They had a smile on their faces and that brought me so much joy!
Happy Crazy Hair Day!
Carrie
