- The first step is to know what you have!! I use this freezer inventory list from The Frugal Find. I have found this one to work best for me!! I go through my freezer on a monthly basis and update my list so that I REMEMBER what I have. I am in the process of making an inventory of my pantry (someday a pantry makeover is on the wish list).
- Use what you have on hand, and try one new recipe a week! I try and go through my pantry and or freezer and use what is in it! I will usually try one new recipe a week, where I have to go out and get the ingredients. If you are in a rut for new recipes, just look on my pinterest board and you will find some really good ones!!!
- Plan a weekly menu!! I cannot stress this enough. I just sit down some time BEFORE Monday and make it out. I just bought a planner a month ago, and it has a cute little section at the bottom that I just write in the meals we are having in that week. Whatever works best for you and your family!
Here are the meals I am planning for this week:
Sunday: Slow Cooker Nacho Grande Soup by Six Sisters Stuff. Smells pretty good in my crock pot right now! I am a HUGE lover of mexican food. I could eat it at almost every meal!
Monday: Teriyaki Chicken (recipe coming soon as part of my once a month freezer meal)
Tuesday: Au Jus Sandwiches, Joe Joe's, and some of the BEST coleslaw EVER!!
Wednesday: Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwiches (a simple meal in which I need to use some leftover ham)
Thursday: My NEW recipe to try: buffalo-chicken-blue-cheese-fettuccine-alfredo
Friday: Pizza Calzones
Saturday: Sweet and Tangy Meatballs over Rice
I would love to know what you are cookin up this week, and what new recipes have you tried and liked??
Carrie
