How to Cut a Pineapple

This last week on My Weekly Menu we had made some Teriyaki Chicken Burgers by Lil Luna. I had the chicken marinating all day and had everything ready for dinner.  I texted my husband to see what time he would be home and he said soon. An half and hour went by and still no husband. Almost 45 minutes later he walked in the door which was fine, but the reason I needed him home was that he always cuts the pineapple. He lived over in the Philippines for a couple of years and had this cute and creative way to cut it.  I was on a time crunch this night as we had somewhere to be. I have never cut a pineapple, and I wanted to use fresh pineapple rings on our burgers, and so I said to myself I am capable... Lets do this!
Now I know that you are probably thinking, really she has never cut a pineapple???  But I promise you I have never cut a pineapple before, and now that I know how easy it is, I will be using fresh pineapple more often.
It actually was a really simple process. I was pleasantly surprised.

      How to Cut a Pineapple
  1. Place the Pineapple on its side on a cutting board.
  2. Cut the crown and the stem off.
  3. Stand the Pineapple up on one end.
  4. Slice the skin off going from top to bottom.
  5. Remove the eye spots.
  6. Cut the Pineapple.
  7. Core the Pineapple.
  8. Serve.
Step 1: Place the Pineapple on its side.

Step 2: Cut the crown and stem off.

Step 3: Stand the Pineapple up on one end.
Step 4: Slice the Skin off going from Top to Bottom.
 Step 5: Remove the Eyes.
It was somewhat difficult at first, but if you cut a V-Shaped groove, the eye comes right out.

Step 6: Cut the Pineapple.
For our burgers I wanted rings, so I just sliced them.
You can cut the Pineapple however you need too!
 Step 7: Core the Pineapple.
Now I wasn't sure what to use to core my pineapple??
Remember my cupcake corer I just got, I decided to try it on these pineapple slices
and it worked like a charm!

Step 8: Serve
We grilled ours with the chicken the last 5 minutes.

I cut my Pineapple like this, but here is another way to cut from Barbara Bakes.
You decide which way is best and let me know??!!

I really do love Pineapple! I love the sweetness, the juiciness, and the flavor. Yumm!!
I really prefer warm pineapple, but sometimes on a hot day, cool pineapple tastes so good too.
I have tasted some pineapples in some tropical areas on our Caribbean Cruise and there is nothing like a good, sweet, juicy, pineapple.

Have a sweet day!
