I was at Hobby Lobby the other day roaming the aisles. Yes... I roam. I was going down the paint aisle and wandered over to the bandana aisle. I fell in love! .99 cents! They had the cutest patriotic bandanas. I grabbed a whole bunch. I knew Memorial Day was coming up and the 4th of July, and I would be using them for something. I just didn't realize what for. I now have lots of ideas and plans. I am so excited!!
My front door has not been decorated in months! I needed a wreath on my front door. I decided to make a Bandana Wreath.
So... Bandana + Wreath= Total Cuteness. I love how they turned out! Yes, I say "they" because I have double doors. I had to make two of them!
Bandana Wreath
By Carrie Perrins
*Inspired by Life in Wonderland
Items needed:
Straw Wreath
2 patriotic bandanas-cut in 3 inch strips
1 solid blue bandana-cut in 3 inch strips
1 white felt sheet
Star shape
Hot glue/gun
Directions:
Cut your bandanas into 3 inch strips. Once your strips are cut, wrap a strip of the patriotic bandana around wreath securing it with hot glue. I overlapped some because of where the bandana left off. Once the whole wreath is wrapped in the patriotic bandana, wrap one blue bandana in upper left corner of wreath. Secure with glue. Cut out any star shape of your choice, out of the white felt sheet. Hot glue felt stars on top of blue bandana. Using a 3 inch solid blue strip fold it in half and iron flat, and then wrap around wreath and tie a knot. Hang.
I love the color pattern of these wreaths. They make me smile. I am ready to celebrate Memorial Day. To all those men and women who have sacrificed their lives in our country's defense. From the bottom of my heart-- Thank You!
Enjoy a nice... relaxing... Memorial Day Weekend with your friends and family!
