Emergency Preparedness... I Am Getting Prepared!

Preparing for the ups and downs of life

I love to follow other blogs! Have you heard of A bowl full of Lemons . Toni... is an amazing person. I have never met her.. but I have read her blog. Anyways... go check out her blog. It is amazing!!! As I was reading her blog... she inspired me to work on my Emergency Preparedness. When I came home from Puerto Rico.. I knew I needed this in place. I knew I needed more water in my Emergency Kit.   Also... we had used one of our 72 hour bags to travel with... and therefore my 72 hr. kit was dumped all over my dining room table. That is OK... it needed to be updated.

I have committed to her 8 week course.  Do you want to join me?? It is not too late to start. You can start today or tomorrow or next week... or just follow along my journey.

WEEK 1: Storage... you can see that link here.

Last week I started this journey. Here is what I did!

⓵. I cleaned out my storage closet. This closet is my cleaning closet, my storage closet, and my game closet. It had accumulated way to much junk!  Here are the before pictures:

⓶. I gathered my bags. My husband and I have discussed the bag situation and we have decided that is best to get big bags one for him and one for me... to carry/pull. Our girls are to little to carry their own bags. I purchased mine at Ross Dress for Less in their luggage section several years ago. I love how they roll. Just do what is best for your family.

I did it! I have cleaned out my storage closet and got my bags ready for the 72 hour Emergency Situation.

Here are my after pictures:

As the mom of the home... I feel very strongly about doing this! I don't want my family/children to suffer because I didn't take the time to get prepared. It only took me about a 1/2  -  1 hour to clean this all up.
BUT... it did take me longer to gather the water supplies. I will share what I did for my Water Storage soon!

I know this journey of preparedness will bless my family with peace.... knowing we are prepared for an emergency.  I just have to say that I am NOT prepared right now. If an emergency would come today... we would not be prepared. BUT... I am getting prepared!

Are you prepared?? If not... just start where you are today and commit to do one thing that might be get you prepared.
