Lazy Susan Homework Station

I find the name of this Lazy Susan Homework Station hilarious!

Why??

Lazy Susan is the name of rotating spice rack. However... it could represent a child who is lazy and won't do their homework!  Today... I have created a homework station using a rotating spice rack... a lazy Susan.

Lazy.... Homework... in one sentence usually is not a good combination.... HOWEVER... this Lazy Susan Homework Station was needed here at 3595.

I have three girls in elementary school and they have homework almost every night. I was having problems with the girls sitting down and have all the necessary school supplies handy for them. Usually... the school supplies are in the office and they would have to go back and forth to get them. This solved that problem! Hooray!

This unfortunately is not a tutorial... just something I created... because we needed it.

I found the lazy Susan and (the I am not sure what to call it) wooden circle at goodwill. They were both in great condition. I lightly sanded the lazy Susan and then painted a mint green line around the wooden circle.
I glued them together using wood Gorilla Glue.
I rearranged some mason jars and a cute little silver bucket to put the necessary school supplies on the lazy Susan.

Crayons... Markers... Glue... Scissors...Sight Words... Brain Quest Cards... easily accessible on my kitchen table!

You might notice that there are no pencils... I have them in my junk drawer in the kitchen... labeled with washi tape so that they wont get stolen! Yes... my girls take the pencils all over the house! Then I can never find them. Thanks washi for coming to my rescue.

I love the Lazy Susan Homework Station.
It has been a great addition to our kitchen table.

Now... lets just hope that the word LAZY won't ever be used in the same sentence with homework again.

Cheers to getting the girls homework done every night!!

Carrie
