Turtle Cake Brownies

I need a dessert.
I need something really good.
Why?
To impress all my girlfriends!
You see it is ladies night... game night!
We will be sitting around the table eating and laughing.
The best medicine.

I decided to make brownies... but not just ordinary brownies. Turtle Cake Brownies.
I love turtles.
I love brownies.
A winning combination!
Now... if only I can win a game tonight!

Turtle Cake Brownies

By Carrie Perrins

3/4 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup evaporated milk
1 milk chocolate cake mix (just the powder)

Mix above ingredients. Spread half of the brownie cake mix into a 8x8 greased pan. Save the other half for later. Bake at 350 for 8 minutes. Remove from oven after 8 minutes.

While brownies are baking... mix:
1 package (11oz.) Kraft caramels bits
1/2 cup evaporated milk

Put caramels and milk in a microwavable bowl. Microwave for 1 minute then stir. Repeat until caramels are melted. Pour over brownies removed from oven.

Then sprinkle with 1 cup milk chocolate chips. Then add the rest of the brownie mix that you have reserved. (They will be big blogs of brownie cake mix).

Bake at 350 degrees for another 15 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for about 5 minutes. Then add chopped pecans and a few big pecans on the big blogs of brownie mix.
Let cool.
*Note: Cake may seem still undercooked if you poke it with a toothpick. It is still done. It is the caramel layer that is soft.

These brownies need to be cooled. They are ooey gooey! They will not cut clean... but oh my they are good!
Ladies night... game night here we come!

Enjoy!
Carrie
