CopyCat Nestle® Toll house® Chocolate Chip Cookie Sandwich

Nestle® Toll house® Ice Cream Sandwich

So... here is the scoop. I really don't like chocolate chip cookies. I haven't made them in the longest time, because I don't enjoy them. I know that people swear by chocolate chip cookies, but I just don't love them..... until now!
My friend was doing a fundraiser for her son to go to a football camp back East. She was selling cookies. I bought a few plates to help her and her son out.  She delivered to my door (in a dust storm mind you), The BEST chocolate chip cookies I have ever had. I know it is hard to say this to those out their that love chocolate chip cookies, but I just haven't found a good recipe that I love.
I texted her right away and asked if this was a family secret recipe or if she was willing to share??? She was willing to share!

And guess what... she said it was just a recipe from Nestle® Toll house®.
I tried to google the famous recipe to compare what she had given me but I couldn't find a link. I will just use hers because they are sooooo good!

Nestle® Toll house® Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 cubes (1 cup) butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Add 2 cups or more of MILK chocolate chips. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
Makes 3 dozen.

I made them one day and then didn't even make it to the cookie jar. Then as I was making them a thought came to me... Nestle® Toll house® Ice Cream Sandwich, which are really called Chocolate Chip Cookie Sandwich!

Memories came back from Disneyland over 5 years ago when I enjoyed them. I think I have only had these sandwiches at Disneyland. I went on the hunt and you can buy them at a local grocery store. Yea!

But... I decided to make my own.

I just used the cookie recipe above. Let them cool. I took out ice cream and let it soften for about 5 minutes. I used vanilla ice cream. Place ice cream on one side of cookie and top with another cookie. Freeze until firm about 2 hours.

They tasted just like the original!

They were so good. If you haven't tried a Nestle® Toll house® Chocolate Chip Cookie Sandwich you must or make your own!!  **Warning**.... They are addicting and they have lots of calories!

Summer is coming... and this would be the perfect treat!

May your day be filled with yumminess!
