Every year I walk into church on Mother's Day and see these mother's wearing lovely corsage's. They have been given them by their loved ones to wear on that special day as a symbol of their love and appreciation for all that they do! This year I made my mother a Felt Flower Corsage to wear on Mother's Day! It won't die, she can wear it again and again, and it will represent my love and appreciation for her.
My mom is the best mom! I am sure you can all say that about your mom too!
6 Reasons why my Mom is the Best:
1. She has supported me in all of my choices, even the difficult, hard, and maybe not so good ones.
2. She is a hard worker. Every time she comes to visit she is always helping me with the household chores, dishes, laundry, getting my house ready for whatever event we are having and holding.
3. In the birth of all 4 of my girls she has come down and stayed with me for the first week of their lives. One time we called her at 5 a.m. in the morning to let her know we were being admitted and by 10 a.m. she was walking through my delivery room door! She was there for me to help me with a newborn as that first week is soooo difficult!
4. She is a great grandma! She sends my girls care packages all the time! She is notorious for a funny, lovable card in the mail for every occasion!
5. She has taught me to take pride in myself. She has shown me how to dress properly and appropriately for any occasion. Even when I was young and didn't know how to dress... she would politely say you need to go change to look nice. At the time... I hated it! But now I do the same thing to my girls and I understand! We just want our kids to look their very best!
6. She loves me! I can see through her actions that she loves me and cares for me and my family.
The list could go on and on... but I just mentioned 6 that are near and dear to my heart at this time of my life. I know she gave me life, brought my up as a Daughter of God, and taught me to be the woman I am today.
Love you mom!!
Here is how you make your own:
Tutorial adapted from The Fickle Pickle
Step 1: Get a cup from your cupboard and trace onto felt. The circle must be about 3 inches round. You will need 6 circles per flower for the petals and then a smaller one for the base.
Step 2: Cut out the circles.
Step 3: Take your circle and fold it in half.
Then fold up one corner up to make a triangle. Glue with Hot Glue Gun.
Then fold back the other triangle to make and S. Glue with Hot Glue Gun.
Step 4: Glue your triangles to the base of the smaller circle. Once dry... Glue on one Bar Pin to the back of the felt flower.
Step 5: On the front of felt flower glue on button and fluff.
Step 6: Wear it proud, you are a Mother!
I love this one, too! maybe if I was ambitious enough I would make these for our ward for mother's day. We do have a small ward...
