February has come and gone.
March is here.
March Madness.
I love reading. I haven't had a whole lot of free time lately and so I am not getting in my reading time. My daughter Bo (who is 11) on the other hand has found a new favorite series... and I can't seem to get her "out" of the books. That is all she talks about. I love it!
The series she is reading is ... The Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan.

She is also stuck on this series as well... The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan.
She has loved both of these series!! She is loving this author and has retold me the stories quite often.
Well... I haven't read any of these books. I am not sure I will either, but at least my daughter loves them.
Onto this month's book:
March's Book:
The Red Tent by Anita Diamant

Her name is Dinah. In the Bible, her life is only hinted at in a brief and violent detour within the more familiar chapters of the Book of Genesis that are about her father, Jacob, and his dozen sons. Told in Dinah's voice, this novel reveals the traditions and turmoils of ancient womanhood--the world of the red tent. It begins with the story of her mothers--Leah, Rachel, Zilpah, and Bilhah--the four wives of Jacob. They love Dinah and give her gifts that sustain her through a hard-working youth, a calling to midwifery, and a new home in a foreign land. Dinah's story reaches out from a remarkable period of early history and creates an intimate connection with the past. Deeply affecting, The Red Tent combines rich storytelling with a valuable achievement in modern fiction: a new view of biblical women's society. (Courtesy of GOODREADS)
I am choosing this book for two reasons. One is that I actually have a great great grandmother named Dinah. Two... because I am reading the bible and I am at this part in the Book of Genesis.
Or... this just has such high recommendations. I really want to read it.
**UPDATE**
I have decided to choose another book for March. I started reading this book The Red Tent. I am 33 pages into the book and I believe it is too sexually explicit. This author has shared the stories of the wives of Jacob, however it is not appropriate to have the entire novel or at least the first half of the novel based on their sexual lives. It was way to much for me!! You may read it and feel different, however I cannot continue reading this novel.
I have chosen to read another book for the Month of March...
God's Daughter by Heather Day Gilbert.
I wish to apologize. The recommendations for The Red Tent were high... but for me not high enough to finish the novel.
I will most my review of my new choice on my Facebook account on April 7, 2014.
