Twixerdoodles

Have you ever wondered how Twix® got its name?? Well... Twix® was introduced to the United States in 1979. I was but a wee little baby! Twix® became popular because it was one of first candy bars selling more than one bar, Twin Stix= Twix®!  Fascinating!
I am a twin! I have a twin brother and what is neat is that we live close to each other. We both have 4 girls, and they are pretty much the same age. We do everything together,  and so you could say we are Twin Stix's!!  Here is an old picture of us Twins! Being a twin is the best! I love my brother and we have so much fun together!

I named these cookies Twixerdoodles because it is a combination of two things, Twix® and Snickerdoodles= Twixerdoodles!!

Now onto the oodles and oodles of yumminess...

Twixerdoodles
Adapted and Inspired by 101 Things to Do With a Cake Mix
By Carrie Perrins

1 yellow cake mix
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
12 fun-size Twix® bars

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix sugar and cinnamon together in small bowl; set aside.
Unwrap Twix® bars, and cut each of them in half. Combine cake mix, vanilla, oil, and eggs. Scoop out 1 Tbsp. cookie dough and form a ball around the Twix® bar half. Roll ball of dough in sugar-cinnamon mixture. Place cookies on cookie sheet and bake 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown. Makes approximately 12 cookies.

Here is step by step instructions:
Step 1: Gather Ingredients

Step 2: Mix sugar and cinnamon together in bowl and set aside.
Step 3: Unwrap Twix® bars and cut them in half. I even cut some of mine into thirds to make some smaller cookies for the little ones!

Step 4: Scoop out with hands 1 Tbsp. of cookie dough. This is very sticky cookie dough and you most likely will be using your hands to wrap the cookie dough around the bar, so I suggest spraying your hand with Pam® spray. Every time I made a cookie, I just sprayed the Pam® on my fingertips and it molded the cookie just fine. Do what works best for you, but I am warning you this is sticky stuff!

Step 5: Roll in cinnamon and sugar mixture. Transfer to baking sheet.  Bake for 8-10 minutes! Remove from pan to cooling rack. This made about 12-15 cookies, but I made some big and small.
Cool and serve!

Try not eating more than one Twixerdoodle! I couldn't do it!

I hope you enjoy this wonderful cookie! I sure did!
