How to Print on Tissue Paper with Free Lucky Printable

A few months back a friend was decorating her husband's office. I was standing there in amazement as they had such great decor.

They had this golfer framed. The husband mentioned that it was printed on tissue paper.

WHAT??

Tissue paper.

It was so cool!!!

I decided I wanted to learn how to do that myself. I was a little skeptical at first. Would it ruin my printer? Would it jam? What would it look like??

In order to make my St. Patrick's Day Mantle I decided to give it a try.

I made this lucky printable on tissue paper.

And YES... it worked. It printed right on the tissue paper with no problems... well one problem. My ink bled a little bit. But overall, I was amazed. I kept it that way to give it a unique look.

Here is the tutorial...

How to Print on Tissue Paper

By Carrie Perrins
  • white tissue paper
  • printer
  • free printable or whatever you are printing (it could be an image)
  • scissors
  • scotch tape

Directions:

Save the free printable image to your computer for you to print.

1. Cover a plain piece of computer paper with tissue paper.
2. Trim down the tissue paper. You don't need the entire thing.
3. With shiny side or glossy side facing up, lay your computer paper down in the crease of the tissue paper.
4. Fold over and wrap it like a present. Tape all loose ends down with scotch tape. Make sure everything is taped down so it won't jam your printer.
5. Feed the document in your computer. Every computer is different, so use which works best for you. For me the taped side was up, and it turned it over and printed on the top. (Follow your computer manual for accurate printing.)
6. Print the free printable or whatever you are printing.
7. With scissors, very carefully cut the ends off the taped paper. The tissue paper is very light and will rip if you try and take the tape off.
8. Crinkle the tissue paper into a ball.
9. Lay flat and frame.
I added a three leaf clover under the tissue paper to give it dimension. You can add whatever works for you.

I love the look! I love how unique it is!
I am excited to try more things with this technique.

Here is the free printable.... Enjoy!
To download just right click and save it to your computer and print.

I am lucky it turned out! I am lucky my paper didn't jam. I am not sure what I would have done. It might have been a headache, but because I prepped my paper properly it worked like a charm.

I love it framed on my mantle. If you want the tutorial for the banner go here

Hope you have lucky time with it too!
