St. Patrick's Day Burlap Banner with Free Printable Pattern

I am so in love with burlap banners. I started making them a year ago. I love the simplicity. They add so much to my mantle. They are so easy to make. They can be cut, spray painted, rolled etc. They have such diversity.
However... they do make a mess. Sometimes you can even have them shred all over the place. But I love the look of them.
This year I made a St. Patrick's Day Banner with burlap, scrapbook paper, and buttons.

Simple and Cute.

By Carrie Perrins

  • free printable pattern
  • burlap
  • several different green scrapbook papers

  • scissors
  • hot glue/gun

  • hole puncher
Directions:

1. Print out free printable pattern and cut out shapes.
2. Pin the banner to the burlap and cut out shape. Repeat until you have the desired number of shapes.
3. With a pencil trace your clover onto scrapbook paper on the back side. With scissors cut out the clovers.
4. With your hot glue gun, glue the the clover to the top of the burlap banner. Be careful hot glue is hot and it soaks thru. Let dry.
5. Glue the button to the top of the clover.
6. Punch two holes in top corners of burlap banners.
7. Hang with jute twine.

I hung it and I love it!

I found it easier to measure out my twine and then add the number of burlap clovers to get the look that I wanted.

Did you know that the Irish folklore tells us that St. Patrick used the shamrock as one of his teaching methods to teach the doctrine of the Trinity to the Irish People.
I like this method of teaching... using an object to help them understand. My kids would go for something like that.
I believe in the Trinity. However, I believe them to be three distinct beings. If you look closely at the leaf clover the leafs are separate but yet one clover. That is how I believe the Trinity is. God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. Three distinct different beings... but one in purpose.
Not... to throw religion in, but I found this fascinating.

Anyways... I hope you enjoy this St. Patrick's Day Burlap Banner.

Have a Happy Day-

Carrie
