Are you in need of a little green?
The pink came down over the last few days. I loved having pink around my house for Valentine's Day. Love was in the air.
As I was contemplating my decor for St. Patrick's Day... I knew I needed a new front door wreath.
I had a different idea in mind when I picked up the foam wreaths, but this idea came to me.
A felt wreath with three different colors of green felt.
I think it turned out very colorful!!
Here are the instructions:
St. Patrick's Day Felt Wreath
By Carrie Perrins- foam wreath
- 2 sheets of felt each-three different colors of green
- hot glue/gun
- burlap
- jute twine
- hole puncher
- wooden clover
- green acrylic paint
Directions:
1. Cut your felt into 1 inch strips.
2. Starting at the back of your foam wreath, hot glue the felt piece to the wreath.
3. Wrap the felt around the front of the foam wreath, making sure it covers the white foam wreath. Hot glue again in the back, leaving the extra felt.
*This was tricky. I just eyeballed it and even overlapped some felt to make sure the wreath was covered. *
4. Alternate colors.
5. Continue wrapping and glueing until the entire wreath is covered.
6. Cut a banner out of burlap. Punch two holes with hole puncher.
7. Paint a wooden shamrock with the green acrylic paint. Let dry.
8. Glue the green shamrock onto the center of the burlap banner.
9. Hang with jute twine.
Once I hung them and drove on an errand and came back... it really added some green to my house. I love it!
What is hanging on your front door??
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Carrie
